It was a windy day in the neighbourhood! Loads of things were flung around, and this garbage can was a hapless victim.

Up an alley I found a hockey goal ready for a game of street hockey! Next to the ‘No Parking’ sign. Look at the similar patterns moving up through the photo- goal netting, wire fencing and  branch tendrils reaching up the building.

Coffee House

Coffee Tum Bird House.jpgSome kind person is building bird houses throughout Milwaukee. I found this particularly creative one-for caffeinated birds-In the East Side. It was covered in rain drops-hinting at its purpose-and I angled the phone camera to make sure that human habitations would give it a sense of place and show it off as just another apartment!

Crazy Concrete Dog

I moved in close to crop this dog statue ina way that had him looming out of the top right of the frame  – tight at the top (even losing some of his head) and extra generous at the bottom. I tried to exaggerate the chaos and disorder of the scene by keeping all of the sight lines slightly skee-whiff. Just a little disorienting. By boosting contrast and saturation the winter leaves transformed themselves into fall colours, adding a time dislocation.
